Though constantly threatened by the ravages of civil war and poaching, the Mountain Gorilla survives along the borders of the Congo, Uganda and Rwanda. As humans, we tend to anthropomorphize, but there is an unmistakeable intelligence evident in their eyes, and identifiable family roles are clearly apparent in their behavior.
